I'd like to share with all of you a very special and dear group very close to my heart!! Carolina Basset Hound Rescue is awesome! As I was on my journey to search for a basset hound puppy. I got on the internet to learn more about basset hounds. As I had never owned one before. I had heard all kinds of things about these sweet and cute dogs. During one of my searches I came across Carolina Basset hound Rescue. Since I live in South Carolina myself I though this was a really cool site and all of these dogs were in the general area of where I lived so I started searching over the available hounds. At the time my little girl was almost 2 1/2 and I had discussed with my husband about adopting one of these hounds. Well, he was a little hesitant about it since we did not know the disposition of these dogs and he encouraged me to look more at puppies since the puppy would grow up with our daughter. Well, I listened to him and we did however purchase a basset houd puppy but something in my heart just kept drawing me to this website. I had felt so guilty that I did not adopt one of these hounds. I had gone out and purchased this beautiful puppy who we all loved dearly but I still continued to look at this website and wonder what more could I do. I just felt the need to help and do something and be a part of this organization. So, I filled out the online volunteer form. WOW!! What a joy its been for me! Although I did not adopt one of our hounds that needed a home, I still needed to be a part of this group and with that said I started helping transport dogs from one foster home to another and also pulling these sweet and scared babies out of shelters. What a joy it has been helping these hounds and being a part of this awesome group of people. I have met some really great friends and there are still some I haven't met and hope to meet as well. What a reward it is to see a basset hound pulled from a shelter and watch him change into a healthy and happy dog. Knowing that you were the one who pulled that awesome new family memeber out of that shelter and gave that dog a new life and brought happiness to a family. What a joy it is to be a part of Carolina Basset Hound Rescue!! Its a very rewarding experience! We'd love to have you join as well.
